*Jake came home from school on Friday and I asked him how it went with Ken. Jake said that Ken apologized and said he would show Jake that he meant it. Jake has been giving me updates everyday since. On Monday he said that Ken would be talking to people and all the sudden start saying rude things. Jake said he would just look at him and shake his head. Ken would then say he was sorry and try to be nice again. :) Jake said he told Ken he would have to earn back his trust. I love my child.
*Sadie is 15 weeks old and weighs 27 pounds. She had her last round of puppy shots and goes back in 3 weeks for her "big girl" shots. She loves peanut butter, retrieving, and Jake. She has realized that if she gets a running start she can jump on Jake's bed and the couch...great...We also got her a heart shaped (the same one Emily had) name tag so she jingles where ever she goes-which is a good thing. Seriously, how cute is she?
*Next week is Spring Break! YIPPPEEEE! We are pretty excited to have a camp out in the back yard (after we rake, and put down stuff that snakes don't like so they will go away!!!), work hard to earn money for Jake's field trip to Grandfather Mt., and just plane have FUN!!!
*Aaron is going to take 2 classes over the summer. They have 2, 5 weeks sessions at UNCC and he is going to try to take both classes in the 1st session so he will have the 2nd one off! From school at least...We are going to go to Carowinds (large amusement park in the area) and the beach this summer. Two things we haven't done since Jake was 3 or 4 and have been saying we were going to do ever since. Maybe we can eat ramen noodles for a few weeks and save money to go to Wolf Lodge (awesome hotel with an indoor/outdoor water park) for a night too...Jake would be thrilled! Oh yeah we also have a $350 (or is it $300...) gift certificate to the Biltmore Estates in Asheville! We can visit our old home and see our friends! We may actually do some things this summer!!!!
*I have to leave for work in 25 minutes and I am still sitting in my PJ's! I guess I better stop blogging and start getting ready! I haven't been on your blogs in days and can't wait to see what fun things you all have been up to!
WOW! That is totally a mature young man you have - you are definitely doing things right! You must be sooo proud!
ReplyDeleteYour son is certainly wise and mature. I would be proud too! Sounds like a wonderful spring break!
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful way of dealing with a bad situation. He is pretty amazing.
ReplyDeleteSomeday Ken is going to look back on his relationship with Jake and be grateful for the lessons that Jake taught him. What a wonderful young man my Jake is.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun summer to me. So glad you will be able to do a few things like that together.
Sadie is a pretty puppy...can't wait to meet her.
